New Years Eve, 2014

It's been quite a while since I posted, so I thought I'd give a general round up of my year.

Let's see where to start.. July I had total right knee replacement.. was in the hospital for 9 days.  I want to say that this was my 2nd stay at Habersham Hospital and if I ever have to have any other surgery or need to be hospitalized for any reason, Habersham is where I want to go!!!  The nurses, well the entire staff is just the best and trust me I have been in hospitals all across the USA.    Back to the surgery, I was in the rehab program for most of the time, released to a PT group that were just fantastic.  I do miss the camaraderie that we enjoyed while we worked out.  Cindi did a fantastic job of caring for not only me but also and mainly for my Mom.

Before I forget I did turn 65 in August, gads.. I never thought I'd live long enough to be this old!!!  But I have finally come to realize that it is better than the alternative!!!!

The first week of October brought another trip to Ohio with my bestest buddy Gwen, another KAP with double the members attending we had a blast!  Met more of the wonderful friends and Sisters of my heart in person and we broke bread and laughed and knitted (well I didn't get to knit that much) I learned the art of Origami and really do enjoy the different ways that paper can be turned into such beautiful objects.

Sad things that happened. Ben and Diane moved to the Chicago area.. a much longer drive for sure!  Also my buddy PJ crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  This tore my heart out, the house still feels empty without him.  But he was a loyal friend to our family, 16 years is a long life for a dog, I just wish he could have stayed a bit longer.

Daniel came for Thanksgiving, we fried a bird. LOL.  Deb and Cindi were the cooks in the kitchen so, we had a fantastic meal with plenty of leftovers for Daniel and Deb to enjoy!

Christmas time brought a surprise 4 day visit with Ben, Diane had to stay home due to work and the dog babysitting problems, they have big furbabies so not easy or cheap to board them.  Cindi was able to endure the trips to the airport through downtown Atlanta which was a great accomplishment!
Daniel and his g/f Mary came on Sunday for a visit, great to have the boys together even for a short time!  I know mom (Nan) was over the moon about it!  She deeply misses the boys, but knows that life brings changes that we don't always like, but they are grown men and need to follow their own paths. Just wish the paths didn't take them so far away!
But Christmas was awesome, the family was together with a huge ham that Daniel was up at 6 am rigging up a way to bake this 13lb monster ham, LOL.  He managed and the ham was not only beautiful (loved the blow torch finish) but had wonderful flavor as well.  Of course when Deb, Cindi and I are in the kitchen, well at least I know that D's and C's dishes are going to be delicious!

Now we are at the end of the year.  As I reflect back, I am truly disappointed that I didn't achieve all that I had hoped.  I guess these failures have been weighing heavily on me for a few months.  But I have (I pray) come to terms with my mistakes, my loss of time so to speak and will once again add the missed "to do's" to 2015's list.  I truly only finished 4 or 5 knitting projects in all of the last 12 months. Sad really ashamed of this.  I want to believe in myself, it's just hard when I see other's works and I feel that what I do is no where near as good as what I am holding.  So why bother??

Enough of that, it's past, LOL.

So my friends, if any that read this.  I wish you the best of the best in the coming year.  I pray that your wishes and dreams come true, His will be done.  I wish you peace, joy and happiness and with every breath you take, I wish you love.  As the saying goes, Live like you are dying, Dance like no body's watching!!  Life is worth living if you accept, forgive and move on.

Hugs!!  See ya next year!!!

I found that the font changed and I really can't type what I want to say completely over again, so please forgive the errors and the crazy post, LOL
